The first step in any project is to discuss design options.  

We offer a full graphic design service for those looking for custom design on any project.  

We also love to work with other designers so if you already have artwork prepared, send it over and we can discuss your options.

 

While discussing design options, we will look at suitable paper stocks and colour choices for your project.

PRINTING PLATES...

 

All of our printing is carried out using photopolymer plates.

 

The approved digital design is printed onto film as a negative image before being exposed to UV light.  When the UV exposure process is complete, the plate is washed down, leaving a hard raised surface.  This surface is then inked and pressed into soft paper resulting in that wonderful modern tactile impression. 

A plate is required for each colour within the design and is passed through the press for each colour.

 

 

PRINT... 

 

Inks are mixed by hand according the Uncoated Pantone Matching System and paper is cut to size and prepared for the press.

We work with Heidelberg Windmill 10x15" Platen Presses which allow for a maximum print area of around SRA4. Ink is applied to the press by hand, the machine is set up and adjusted for the relevant stock weight and a first proof is pulled. 

Any adjustments to impression, ink distribution or paper feed are made at this stage.

 

 

FINISH... 

 

When the printing is complete, items are trimmed down on our guillotine.  Any creasing, drilling or perforation is carried out at this stage.

We also offer die-cutting services so no matter how odd the shape, we can produce it.  

​

Items are proofed, checked and double checked before being packaged up and shipped out.

We are based in central Scotland but regularly work with international customers and are happy to ship worldwide.  

 

For UK based orders, please allow 7 to 12 weeks for custom design jobs and 2 to 4 weeks for print only jobs.
